How to Use Hypertide in a Telegram Group
Last checked against the product: 2026-10-19
The short answer
Add the Hypertide bot to a Telegram group. A group admin who has already connected a wallet types /start in the group to set it up. After that, each member decides for themselves, with /broadcast, whether their trades are shown in the group. The default is off. Nobody's trades are posted unless that member turns it on.
Step 1: add the bot to the group
When the bot is added, it posts a short welcome message in the group. It says that connected users can type /start to set the group up, and that everyone else should connect a wallet in a private chat with the bot and then come back.
Step 2: a group admin types /start
Only a Telegram group admin or the group's creator can set the group up. When someone types /start, the bot first asks them to connect their wallet, then checks that they are a group admin; anyone who is not an admin is told only an admin can set the group up.
The admin must already have connected a wallet to Hypertide in a private chat. If not, the bot replies in the group with a link to do that first and also tries to send the person a private message. Once the admin has connected, /start in the group replies that the group is set up and names them as its owner.
If the group is already set up, /start replies that the group is already owned.
Being the owner gives no extra powers and no share of anyone's fees. Today the owner is simply the person who set the group up. Every member, owner or not, uses the same /broadcast choice below.
Step 3: each member chooses what to share
Any member who has opened @hypertide_bot can type /broadcast in the group. The bot shows three buttons: Off, Minimal and Full.
Off is where everyone starts. Nothing about that member's trades is posted. Choosing Minimal or Full is a choice about your own trades only. No admin or owner can switch it on for you, and you can switch back to Off at any time with the same command.
Minimal posts a short line per trade. For an opening trade it shows who traded, the direction, the market and the fill price. For a closing trade it shows the market and, when it is known, the profit or loss on that position. Full adds the size, the approximate dollar value and the leverage when it is known, and the profit or loss with a percentage on a close.
If you make several trades within about a minute, the bot may combine them into one summary card, for example how many trades in which markets.
Both trades you place yourself in Hypertide and trades copied for you are announced once you have opted in. Cards show your Telegram first name and username.
Choosing from a private chat
You can also set it in a private chat with the bot. Type /broadcast followed by off, minimal or full and the group's title in quotes, for example: /broadcast minimal "My Group Name".
/lb: the group leaderboard
Type /lb in the group to see its leaderboard. It only lists members who have chosen Minimal or Full, and for each one it counts only trades made after they opted in. It opens on profit and loss in dollars over the last 7 days. Buttons switch it to profit and loss in percent, volume or number of fills, and to a 30-day window. It shows ten people per page.
If nobody has opted in yet, it says there are no opted-in trades in that window. In a private chat, or in a group that has not been set up, /lb tells you where to use it.
A leaderboard is a record of past results by the members who chose to share. It does not say who to copy or follow.
/groups: the groups you are in
Type /groups to list the groups where you have made a /broadcast choice, with your current setting for each. A group appears there once you have chosen a setting, including Off. If there are none, the bot says you are not in any Hypertide-enabled groups yet.
What happens if the bot is removed
If the bot leaves the group or is removed, the group is marked inactive and nothing more is posted there. /broadcast and /lb in that group then say the group is not set up. If the bot is added back and an admin types /start again, the group becomes active again. Your earlier /broadcast choices are kept, so check them.
What this page does not tell you
It does not tell you whether to connect, whom to follow, or whether to share your trades. Sharing shows your Telegram name and your trades to the people in the group, so only turn it on if you are comfortable with that. A copied trade can lose money, and so can you. This page describes the app as of 2026-10-19. For what connecting allows, see hypertide.app/guides/what-you-sign-when-you-connect.
